ProjectOBT
3D-tool sheet´s for small robots.
OBT
The OBT is a process project where tools are developed for small robots in a way that children can implement them in various execution setups no matter their individual level.
The idea is to upgrade childrens skills through playing with robots in real environments.
Feelings of early success can be very beneficial for children’s future motivation within this field.
The attached image shows an example of a 3D printed sheet where from various tools can be pushed out by hand and used directly on the small robots and theme sheets in the arena.
It started with a few tools and then it developed quickly to a whole concept containing 3D-tools and theme sheets for assembly, both on the robots and in a execution arena.
The video shows an example of a execution setup which is a good exercise for understanding a real production line.
There are unimaginable possibilities and more tools are continuously being developed.
In the beginning when I had classes in robot block coding I experienced that the children lost interest after a few robot just-driving-around-rounds.
Then we started to make tools and theme sheets for the robot so the children could fulfill small tasks and the children became much more motivated when there was purpose to fulfill.
The link between coding and executing is so important for their future understanding of real production line logistics and robots implementation in various context.
The attached pictures shows four of the theme sheets titled Empty, Airport, Forest and Warehouse.
