Creative processes and product development
Welcome.
Hi every one.
As it is my first blog article I want to start to welcome you all to my new site.
I´m excited to hear from you and to share my passion and knowledge with you.
As a former handcraftsman specially within metal and ceramics, I can say I learned it the hard way and that real materials need a lot of processing and that processes takes time.
This is the opposite of the immediate and spontaneous creativity, where you can hardly wait to see whether the idea works and how it looks.
But then I became an Industrial Designer and began working with 3D and printing parallel to developing designs in virtually all materials, meanwhile learning a lot of new technics.
This gave me an unimaginable freedom and I found myself unlimited in possibilities again.
Just like when I was a kid and the whole World was mine to fill with fantasy.
With 3D-modelling and -printing there is a very short distance from ideas to functioning models.
And with the 3D-models together with my knowledge from my past, there is not far to production of various designs with an endless palette of expressions, materials and functionality.
After I worked WW as an Industrial Designer for almost 20 years I changed career again and am now working with children development within creation and technology.
The work with kids brought me back to my roots and every day I get inspired of their spontanious approach towards creating.
That gave me another boost and now I can´t stop exploring new technologies, unfolding new ideas and bring them to life.
See you out there in the exciting World and have a very nice day 😀
Yours sincerly
Tomas Lichtenberg
